Viafarini.work presenta Adam H. & The Silent Treatment in concerto a Milano per presentare in anteprima Holocene. L’album è frutto di un viaggio tra i templi della Sicilia dove il musicista e compositore statunitense e il duo di ingegneri del suono hanno realizzato registrazioni ambientali, ispirate dai suoni della natura come dai versi degli animali che popolano i parchi archeologici. Al loro rientro l’album è stato costruito come inno intimista, prodotto tra Berlino e la Dordogna, dove la musica è stata composta appositamente per accompagnare le registrazioni sul campo, come un canto per onorare le reliquie dell'Olocene.
Ad aprire il concerto la band italiana Kubri, nata a Piacenza nel 2016 come progetto di improvvisazione libera sperimentale. Il nome Kubri, che in arabo significa "ponte", riflette la missione della band di collegare generi diversi come psichedelia, jazz, folk, post-rock e avanguardia senza appartenere completamente a nessuno di essi.

“Holocene is an album rooted in failure. The story goes like this: I had read about an Ancient Greek temple in Sicily that apparently produced eerie drones when the wind blew through its pillars; I became obsessed with this to the point that I began corresponding with the temple's current caretaker, who confirmed their existence and authorized me to record them. Emboldened and full of hope, I made the journey from Berlin and joined my friends from The Silent Treatment on site. It rained, there were hordes of people, not one drone could be heard let alone recorded. The realization that we had travelled thousands of miles to sit in a parking lot surrounded by Destination Italia tour buses began to sink in to devastating effect. But then our ears pricked up; we noticed there was sound everywhere. Water roaring in a distant stream, lizards scurrying into bushes, breezes blowing through drenched pines. And birds. Hundreds of birds singing in the temple where they had sheltered from the storm. We let the tape roll and captured everything we could of the moment. Upon returning to our homes in Berlin and Dordogne, we composed music to accompany these field recordings, to honor these relics of the Holocene. What came out is haunted, mournful, but elevating. We hope you enjoy it.”
