Viafarini for artist mobility

The non-profit space Viafarini has been established in 1991 in Milan as an organisation for the development of contemporary art projects, promoting italian contemporary art. As of 2025 Viafarini produced the research of 131 international artists coming from 53 different countries.

From EUROPE Viafarini produced the research of 43 artists from 15 different countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK.

Thematically most part of the projects dealt with aspects related to contemporary art language (formal aspects, history of art, materials…).
6 of those artists addressed in particular issues of Feminism and Gender.
7 artists dealt with Architecture, Urbanism and Public Space.

From UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Viafarini produced the research of 10 artists, 6 of them addressed the issue of Architecture, Urbanism and Public Space.

From CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA Viafarini produced the research of 16 artists from 10 different countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela.
5 of them addressed the issue of Feminism and Gender, 3 of them addressed the issue of Art and technology.

From CANADA Viafarini produced the research of 5 artists, 3 of them addressed the issue of Art and technology.

From AUSTRALIA Viafarini produced the research of 5 artists, 2 of them addressed the topic of design research.

From CHINA Viafarini produced the research of 6 artists, mostly dealing mostly with aspects related to contemporary art language (formal aspects, history of art, materials…).

From SOUTH KOREA Viafarini produced the research of 3 artists, 2 of them dealing with the topic of art and technology.

From EASTERN EUROPE Viafarini produced the research of 23 artists from 15 different countries: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine.
6 of them addressed the issue of Women Identity and Politics of Gender.

From countries of the MENA REGION Viafarini produced the research of 14 artists from 4 different countries: Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Lybia.
3 of them addressed the issue of War and conflict, 3 of them dealt with aspects related to the history of Islamic art.

From AFRICA Viafarini produced the research of 3 artists.
2 of them addressed the issue of postcolonial studies.

From UNITED ARAB EMIRATES Viafarini produced the research of 3 artists.
2 of the addressed the issue of climate change and ecological transition.
